I was obsessed with mouths of the portraits I was observing…
The more crooked the teeth, the more interesting the whole face in general would look.
It’s as if a pretty smile was dull and predictable.
My main objective was to avoid contrasting pigments as to not make the work too energetic and vibrant. So I used a variety of colors.
